School Of Ministry

Cross Church

Last updated January 19, 2016

HEY! I have been on cloud nine since this August! What an incredible journey it has been moving up to Northwest Arkansas and joining with Cross Church. After finishing working at FBC Benton and then working at Kanakuk Kamps (K1) I moved in faith that God was calling me to Cross Church. After interviewing with Jeff Crawford, President of Cross Church School of Ministry, I decided to choose the College Ministry track. This wasn’t expected because I had a lot of experience with high school student ministries, middle school ministries, and then this summer led 6-12 year olds. I had just graduated college myself and didn’t know how it would go jumping into this new territory being basically the same age of the students I would be leading. Of course God knew what He was doing leading me to College Ministry here at Cross Church Fayetteville right next to University of Arkansas. I came on staff right before a record-breaking time. A couple weeks later we had our first C3 (Cross Church College) service on campus that had over 2400 in attendance. After that first kickoff week, we moved the service back to Cross Church Fayetteville where we see on average over 800 college students come on Wednesday night to one of our two worship services. The College Ministry Staff I am a part of is incredible! I absolutely love this staff and also the rest of the staff at the Fayetteville campus I work with. My role is pretty wide but one thing I have taken leadership of (and loved the most) is Freshman Outreach and creating small groups for them.

Highlights (first semester in college ministry):

  • Started a Monday Night Freshman Guys Small Group. It started with 3 freshman guys and we’ve grown to over 30! We had to split near the end of last semester and recently have had to split again. I’ve developed a leadership team who I focus on pouring into.

  • meet with around 20 different college students weekly

  • organized and planned a Freshman Bonfire as an outreach tool and had over 100 show up, many of these got plugged into different small group

  • got the opportunity to preach at one of our C3 services

  • have seen so many saved and I got to baptize 14 college students

  • led a group of 50 students to the Passion Conference in Houston, TX

  • helped start a new C3 college service in Neosho MO at Crowder College!

I had the incredible opportunity to go on a mission journey to Malawi Africa with the Cross Church School of Ministry. Here are some of the highlights:

  • With the team of 17 we worked with an organization called Esther’s House, working with widows and orphans! We washed 80 of the orphan’s feet and then 70 widow’s feet as we told them the story of Jesus washing the disciples feet.

  • Door to door evangelism: saw countless come to Christ!

  • Put on a Local Pastors Conference. We had 30 pastors from all over Malawi come with their wives and a deacon.

  • Baptized 15 people in a creek

This semester, I will continue to be involved in a number of different ministry areas and will be pushing to learn everything that God has for me here. It is amazing to see how the Lord works!
